i love it... sound design is nasty here! only feedback i have is to make that kick punch through the mix harder with some compression. great work

im a sucker for west coast style sounds. im not sure how to describe the sound in the song, but i think its that bassline that goes nuts on the fifth beat (aka down beat) of the measure. the best word I can describe it as is "squiggly". no joke, that sounds dope as fuck. apply a bit more sidechain and get yourself a copy of vallhalla reverb, throw distortion on the kick (like you did with the snare), and this banger will only bang more. good work!

PS: for some reason this reminds me hotline mi

JustALunaticGuy responds:

Thank you! I dont wanted to add distortion to the kick because its, in fact, a layer of 3 kicks and one of them already has distortion, and dont wanted to focus the drums that much either, but yeah, and about adding more sidechain, im not sure, it would make it a little... cleaner? maybe? i'll try that later.

great song! I've always struggled with EDM, its pretty tough to make!

look up a sidechain tutorial on youtube, it will change how this sounds and make the kick punch through way more.

sounds dope i dig it! I bet the mix would sound way more warm if you add a vinyl effect plugin. Waves has lots of them and they go on sale often for really cheap. keep up the good work.

YasiinClemens responds:

Ima have to snag that thank you for the heads up

its cool! for future projects i would turn down the sidechain compression a bit tho

Dart-Music responds:

Got it!

throw some reverb on the synths in the mid to high range. make that lead synth scream, put it through a little distortion then compress it. this sounds dope tho my man.

this is dope but if you're putting this in a game you need to normalize all the music before putting it in, then adjusting music volume in game.

Ragchomp responds:

Volume adjusted, should see it updated in a bit

for future projects, I would add more stuff in earlier on to avoid repetition

throw that bass through fruity waveshaper, and put a compressor on after that (multiband, like maximus), you'll make it sound way better
